The Good Life, Living at The VIO, High Above the Wharf

There are many options when it comes to living at The Wharf, but VIO condominium raises the bar to a higher level. There are 112 luxury units at VIO of which most of them include water views. The building’s appeal and location have attracted business leaders, politicians, and even superstars such as professional soccer player, Wayne Rooney.

The units at VIO range from studio size to three bedrooms. The few condos without a view of the Washington Channel have a view of the U.S. Capitol dome, a reminder that SW DC is just a short distance from the heart of the city.

We recently had the opportunity to visit unit #1120, which is currently for sale through DC Living’s Jason Skipworth. The condo is a two-bedroom, two-bath unit with expansive views of the DC skyline including the Capitol dome and parking.

Skipworth not only sells condos at VIO, he lives in the building and has complete understanding of the units and the neighborhood. “There really is a sense of community among the VIO neighbors and Wharf/SW neighbors,” he said. “VIO offers the best of both worlds, whether it’s a home with water views or spectacular city/Capitol views. It’s amazing to be able to walk right outside your front door at VIO and enjoy restaurants with cuisines from around the globe and everything that is The Wharf.”

The main living room in #1120 has floor-to-ceiling windows and is separated by a European-style gourmet chef’s kitchen that includes Thermador appliances, gas cooking range, built-in microwave, Kohler under-mount sink with a Grohe pullout faucet and Quartz countertops.

The bedrooms are spacious, have city views, and come with California Closets organization. The master bath includes a walk-in shower, a separate soaking tub, and a double Porcelanosa master vanity w/Quartz countertop. The second bath includes a shower/tub combination with a pedestal sink.

VIO includes so many amenities for residents, including secure, underground parking, 24-hour front desk with concierge and porter service, well-equipped gym with yoga studio. The resident’s spaces also include a lounge with a fireplace and an espresso bar, a waterfront garden with a grill, outdoor dining tables, and a sun deck; don’t forget the luxurious, waterfront, saltwater infinity-edge pool. The building also features a pet cleaning station, secure bike storage room, and a car-detailing station.

If all this wasn’t enough, VIO is central to everything at the Wharf including fine dining, world-class live music venues, and DC’s historic Municipal Fish Market.

“We can enjoy a variety of music at all The Wharf concert venues, the theater at Arena Stage, or we can walk to basketball games, baseball games, and soccer games,” says Skipworth.

Another important point Skipworth makes is just how centrally located SW DC is to just about everything.  “It’s an easy stroll to The Capitol, Chinatown, Navy Yard, and all the monuments and museums on the National Mall. Plus, VIO and Wharf residents can get to Georgetown, Alexandria, and National Harbor via the water taxi. That’s really a fun means of transportation.”

VIO is designed by Handel Architects and WDG Architecture, and was built by PN Hoffman and Madison Marquette in 2017.  Currently there are two other condos for sale at VIO, #1002 a one bedroom, one bath unit, and #1007 a studio unit.

When asked about the Wharf lifestyle, Skipworth says, “Living at VIO and The Wharf offers a lifestyle, living like you’re always on vacation, but with the conveniences of the city. Living at VIO at The Wharf is the best of DC living!”

We agree!
