Get Your Karaoke On at The Wharf!

When Live K Karaoke Bar opens later this year, pretend rock stars, rappers, and performers will be in all of their glory on the big stage or in a private room. The karaoke concept is the vision of veteran DC restaurateur, Chris Zhu, who also owns China Garden in Rockville, and Han Palace in Tysons Corner, a recently opened location in Woodley Park and a forthcoming location on Barracks Row, is very excited to expand to the District Wharf.

“The Wharf is the hottest spot now in DC, the foot traffic and the customers there are what our targets are,” Zhu told Wharf Life DC.

Inside Live K Karaoke patrons will find a futuristic Tron-like experience. There will be 15 private rooms and a large bar area with a “main stage.” The private rooms, which will range in size, will hold groups from 4 to 40 people where they can enjoy karaoke, food and drink. The rooms will be priced according to size.

The menu will feature dim sum, BBQ and a full bar. Zhu says that he may include some menu items from China Garden and Han Palace, and is planning on happy hour specials.

Currently, there are no plans for a brunch menu but Zhu says brunch can be arranged upon request for a private party.

Construction at the venue is underway and Zhu says he is aiming for October for the grand opening. Live K will be located in 6,686 square feet of space on Maine Ave. in the location formerly occupied by District Hardware.
