Bonjour Bistro du Jour!

Knead Hospitality & Design announced plans this week to open a french bistro style cafe in the space formerly occupied by Dolcezza, which closed last fall. The cafe, slated to open this summer, will be called Bistro du Jour and will aim to recreate an authentic Parisian scene with a view of the Washington Channel.

This exciting concept will offer the true cafe experience – an all day location for congregating and grazing over food options from morning ‘till night. Patrons can start the day with coffee (supplied by La Colombe) and fresh croissants (provided by New York City bakery Mah-Ze-Dahr) and then enjoy a changing menu along the course of the day to include French favorites such as steak frites, onion soup, and foie gras along with a selection of Champagne and other cocktail options.

Bistro du Jour marks the third Wharf property for Knead, which also owns Mi Vida and The Grill.

Eater DC reported that Knead co-founder Jason Berry will keep costs in check. Berry says he wants to create “an approachable place that does quality well. We are looking at the $20 range, with breakfast for $8 or $10.”

Updates will be provided as they are available.
