Grazie Grazie Ready To Reopen After Employee Tests Positive for Coronavirus
Grazie Grazie announced this week that an employee tested positive for coronavirus, and immediately took action as prescribed by the CDC. As a result, the store was closed for several days to undergo a deep sanitation cleaning and until all employees could be tested. Grazie Grazie made the announcement on social media last Monday in order to alert its customers and others about the situation.
On Wednesday Grazie Grazie announced that all employees tested negative for COVID-19 and that the store had completed a deep cleaning. It posted a certificate from an independent third party called Mr. Bio Clean, which says it “has successfully disinfected their area through Electrostatic Disinfection, ULV Dry Mist Hydrogen peroxide, and Sterilization Fogging.”
Grazie Grazie also announced that it would reopen Wednesday, May 28 at 11:00 a.m. for regular business.
Grazie Grazie should be commended for its transparency and the steps it is taking to ensure the safety of its employees and customers. The reality is that as DC reopens there will continue to be positive tests showing up among employees throughout the city. We must rely on the businesses to be transparent and to take swift action, as Grazie Grazie has done.
The store has invited anyone with questions to contact them at Grazie@GrazieGrazie.com.
Reaction to Grazie Grazie’s announcement from its customers was very positive. On Instagram, several customers praised the store for its transparency and expressed hope for a return to business.
@Unholyfrijoles “Sending positive vibes your way. Will def grab a CiBO when you’re back.”
@ginaruns1 “I hope your employee recovers with minimal side effects. We can’t wait till y’all open up. You have the BEST sandwiches in the world!”
@hi.its.me.lauren “Sorry to hear this!!! Sending healing vibes to that employee! Can’t wait to order when you reopen.”
May 25 Grazie Grazie Statement
“We were made aware today that one of our employees has unfortunately tested positive for COVID-19. This individual is a new employee who worked one shift last Wednesday. While in the store, this individual was following Grazie Grazie’s strict safety guidelines, such as frequent hand washing, wearing masks and gloves, and maintaining social distancing from customers.
Grazie Grazie will be following the City’s guidance and closing immediately. All staff will undergo testing. The store will undergo a deep sanitation process in accordance with CDC guidelines, and will be cleaned by a licensed third party.
We feel that because we have been following strict CDC-recommended guidelines, that we have done our very best to prevent further transmission. We will also continue to enforce these safety protocols and take every precaution necessary.
In the meantime, our team is taking a much needed break and we will be back shortly.
We’re happy to answer any questions via Grazie@GrazieGrazie.com
Grazie and Stay Safe.”
