Lucky Buns, Milk & Honey, Mason’s Lobster on Verge of Opening at Wharf. 

The next wave of restaurants to open at the District Wharf will feature burgers, waffles, and lobster rolls. Lucky Buns, a flat iron grill burger joint, Milk & Honey, a southern inspired all day brunch spot, and Mason’s Lobster, a Maine inspired lobster stand, are nearing completion and will soon open in the Phase 2 area of the Wharf.  

Lucky Buns – a local chain with locations in Adams Morgan and Union Market, is located next to Gordon Ramsay’s Fish & Chips on Wharf Street. The restaurant offers sloppy burgers featuring Creekstone patties with lots of topping options. Fried chicken sandwiches are also available with flavor options from Sichuan to Tandoori. Sides include hand cut chips with a list of dipping sauces from which to choose. Lucky Buns has a full specialty cocktail menu in addition to beer and wine. 

Milk & Honey – another local DC chain is making fast progress to get the doors open to provide the SW Waterfront with Shrimp & Grits, Crab Hash, and RumChata French Toast. While the business promotes “brunch all day” the menu is wide ranging and offers options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Milk & Honey will be located on Maine Avenue behind the Pendry.  

Mason’s Lobster Rolls, a regional chain from Annapolis, Md, will soon open its lobster stand at 681 Water Street, SW. Mason’s keeps its menu simple, providing customers with the classic lobster roll served chilled with mayo and lemon butter or the Connecticut lobster roll, served warm with butter.  There are a few lobster roll variations on the menu and even a shrimp roll.
